School Procedures

Please note that Spruce Creek is a welcome, open, and inviting campus, but the safety of your child is our number one priority.

Visitor/Volunteer System

  • Volusia County Schools has implemented a new Visitor Management system. In order to better protect our students, visitors and staff; all visitors and volunteers will be required to show a valid government issued ID. This identification will be scanned into our new Visitor Management system by office personnel.
  • All visitors/volunteers must now enter through the main office.

Parking/Traffic Routines

  • ​​The parent loop gates will be open for student drop off for breakfast at 7:20am and for morning supervision at 7:35 am.​  
  • All visitor parking is located in the west parking lot in visitor parking spots only. ONLY Staff and Buses are permitted to enter through the north gate (bus loop).
  • After parking in the visitor lot, all visitors/volunteers should proceed directly to the main office to sign in.
  • All numbered spaces are reserved for staff members only.
  • Use caution when backing out into the parent loop.
  • Parents should stay in their vehicles at dismissal for parent pick-up. Parents will no longer park and walk up for dismissal.
  • Gates to the parent loop/visitor parking lot will remain open from 7:20 to 5:30 each day.
  • It is a violation of state law to block or use the bus loop. Vehicles may not enter the bus loop when buses are on campus. Bus​es are loading and unloading from 7:20 to 7:50am and 2:00 to 2:45pm (1:10-1:45pm early release) daily. Official visitors and volunteers may pull in and park in the designated spots in the west parent loop; however, neither pedestrian nor vehicle traffic is permitted to cross the bus lanes while school buses are present. Pedestrian traffic will utilize sidewalks within the parking lot to access the Main Office.​
  • At dismissal, parents who wish to meet their walkers and bike riders will wait in the grassy area near the bike rack.  Please stand back from the sidewalks and keep the bike rack area clear, as teachers are supervising the dismissal of students.

Morning Supervision Areas

  • Kindergarten will wait between building 4 & building 7.
  • 1st grade will wait in the cafeteria.
  • 2nd grade will meet in the courtyard area between buildings 3 and 8.
  • 3rd grade meets in the courtyard area between building 9 and 10.
  • 4th grade meets in building 13.
  • 5th grade meets in the central Bobcat courtyard.
